Bitchin’ Bagels
Design Brief
For this project, the main goal was to create a guide and digital prototype on a subject of our own choice. With the choice in mind when exploring user interface and experience, which would later be developed into a mobile app design.
Process & Research
Once the topic of bagel shops within San Diego County was decided, I started to create the personas for who the app would be mostly geared toward, leaving college students as the main demographic using the app. For the minority of users I also created two more personas, the 9-5 and the Golden Ager. Keeping the majority user in mind, I created a youthful color theme while also making sure the app presented minimalist and calm so that it would not overwhelm any of the user personas within the space. The app design features a location, review, a map, and guide page that have been through many transformations. In addition to these pages, I added an extra style page. The style page features information about the 3 most known, talked about and debated bagel styles, giving bagel consumers a more in depth experience.
User Experience
With the users in mind, I wanted to give them a simple review page where they could gain valuable insight about the shops from users who have already been there. To make the design more user friendly, I created a scrolling page with each location listed in order of the highest ratings to the lowest. Along with this, the location’s show users store hours and addresses.
